Has there been a time when something was prepared at home and you literally had a fight with your loved ones for it? Well, the same was the case with this curry that i made..I had bought this packet of crumbled soya chunks for the first time(I usually buy the bigger ones for making my soya chunks biriyani!) and was waiting to try it out.. This time, instead of google searching, i went the easier way of asking my master chef of an aunt whose recipes can never go wrong..I must say, she has been a great support for me teaching me the basics of food photography ,cooking and many more things..
Even though crumbled soya can be used to make cutlets and parathas, this kheema curry is a must try for all soya lovers and even for people who love to try something new and yummy…It tastes somewhat like paneer burji and both of us being a great fan of it, loved it to the extent of eating it the whole day with rice at noon, dosa for evening and roti at night…The leftover curry(if left,that is!) can be used as a paratha or sandwich stuffing too…

2 Cups Crumbled Soya/Soya Granules
1 Cup Green Peas (Frozen/dried ones soaked overnight and boiled)
3 cloves of Garlic
1 Inch Piece of Ginger
2 Green chillies
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
2 tsp Chilli Powder / to taste
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
1 tsp Pav Bhaji Masala(Optional)
1 tsp Cumin seeds
2 tsp Oil
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves and a lemon wedge for garnish
1.Wash and soak the soya granules for around 15 minutes..
2.Meanwhile, chop all the veggies..
3.Take oil in a pan add splutter cumin seeds in it..
4.Add onion and fry till translucent..
5.Add chopped ginger,garlic and green chillies and fry well..
6.Add chopped tomatoes and fry till they are mashed well..
7.Add the turmeric, chilli ,garam masala powders and salt..
8.Squeeze out the water from the soya and add to the gravy..Mix well…
9.Add the green peas and mix well…
10.Cover and cook for 5 minutes..Sprinkle little water if moisture is less in the curry but don’t add more..
11.Open cover and add the pav bhaji masala and mix well..Cover again for 2 minutes..
12.Remove from flame and garnish with coriander leaves and squeeze lemon juice on top..
Enjoy with roti, rice or anything you like!
