I had been wanting to try something different with the soya chunks apart from my Soya Chunks Biriyani.. Precisely at that time, one of my friends came up with this yummy looking dish called soya chunks roast.. I was so much in love with her recipe that i tried it that day it self.. And i am glad to say that it came out very well..
This dry roast is one of those dishes which can be served as a starter as well as for main course.. My husband loved it so much that i have got a request for it to be made every week (and i am happy since it is an easy to make dish!).. This dish also requires the most basic ingredients but giving an awesome flavor..

1 Cup Soya Chunks
1 inch piece of Ginger
3 cloves of Garlic
2 Green chillies
1 Tbsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 Tbsp Coriander Powder
1/2 Tbsp Garam Masala Powder
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
Curry Leaves to taste
Salt to taste
1. Add the soya chunks to hot water and keep it covered for 10- 15 minutes.. Drain and keep it aside..
2.Chop ginger, garlic,green chillies, onion and tomato as shown..
3.Heat oil in a kadai and add splutter mustard seeds..Add curry leaves and fry for some time..
4.Add the ginger, garlic and green chillies and fry till the rawness is gone..
5.Add onions and fry till they turn translucent..
6.Add the turmeric, red chilli, coriander and garam masala powders and fry well..Add salt..
7.Add chopped tomato and fry till they are cooked a little but not mashed..
8..Squeeze the soya chunks and add them..Mix well.. Cover and cook for around 5 minutes..
Serve hot as it is or with rotis or rice..
