I am always on the look out for new healthy breakfast recipes..My search always ends me up with something good and different to eat each morning..Even though there has been my share of disasters(fairly big share!), i now have a yummy collection of recipes taken from different sites and people.. Even though i dont mind grinding and fermenting the batter for dosas, i always have a fantasy for instant dosas.. Just mix up some ingredients and lo! your dosa is ready….Always far better than eating unhealthy.. I also make them at night if we are not hungry enough for rice…
Ever since i have got to know the health benefits of ragi,i always search for good recipes with it…One of them is the ragi malpua and the other one is this ragi onion dosa which i got from Raks Kitchen.. I have prepared the dosa exactly following her recipe and it comes out very well… I prepare it atleast once a week for breakfast…This dosa batter preparation takes less than 5 minutes and the dosa also gets cooked within seconds..

Health Benefits of Ragi: Ragi is rich in Calcium , helps in weight loss, source of rich Fiber and helps lower cholesterol ,Good for diabetes patients and also has a cooling effect on the body..
1/2 Cup Ragi/Finger Millet flour
1/4 Cup Whole Wheat flour
1 small Onion
3 Green Chillies
2 tsp Cumin seeds
Curry Leaves to taste
Salt to taste
Buttermilk/Water as required
1. Take all the ingredients in a bowl adding water or buttermilk as required..
2 .Prepare a slightly thin batter but not very watery…
3. Heat a pan and add some drops of oil…Pour a ladle of batter or more in it..The dosa will not get any particular shape (but who cares about the shape?? just have fun!!)..
4.Cover and cook for around 30 seconds till the top surface looks cooked..
5.Flip the dosa and cook the other surface too..
6.Remove from pan and serve hot with chutney or sambar.. Enjoy!
Note: This dosa is difficult to spread if the batter is refrigerated..So prepare batter only as required and not more..
