I always look out for healthy and tasty snacks and terms like whole wheat,low fat,oats,egg less, etc always grab my attention..This was a recipe I got from a TV show on NDTV Goodtimes (my fav channel) named Guilt Free…It was a instantly tried and loved recipe..Its a yummy and healthy dessert..I’m sure all those who have a sweet tooth but are under a diet will surely love this dessert… 🙂

For the Malpua Batter–
Ragi (Finger Millet) flour : 4 Tbsp
Whole wheat flour : 2 Tbsp
Oats : 1 Tbsp
Brown sugar/Refined sugar : 1 Tbsp
Milk : 2 Tbsp
Water as Required
For the filling-
Dessicated Coconut : 4 Tbsp
Honey : 2 Tbsp
Cardamom Powder : A small pinch
Dry fruits(pistachio,almonds,raisins,walnuts,cashews) to taste
1. Mix ragi,wheat flour,oats and brown sugar in a bowl.
2.Add milk and water and prepare a batter free of lumps as shown. It should be of pouring consistency.. It should not be either watery or thick..
3.Heat a skillet over the stove top. Put 1 or 2 drops of oil when the skillet is hot. Lower the stove to simmer.
4.Pour 2 spoons of the batter to give a round shape to the malpua.
5.Cover and cook for few seconds. It cooks very fast..So keep an eye on it.
6.Flip it and cook the under side for just few seconds… Do not keep it till browning or it wont taste good..
7.Remove from flame and leave it to cool.
8.For the filling, Mix all the ingredients mentioned above one by one.
9.Put a spoon of the filling on the malpua and fold it..
10.You can garnish it with more filling or eat it as it is…. Enjoyy!!
