Mango Tangy


                                                          Apart from being an ardent dosa lover, my hubby is a huge fan of fruit juices. Though I love juices too, my way of fruit intake mostly is eating them as they are, without juicing them up.  Most juices need sieving which sieves the fiber in them. Also sugar is added to juices which makes it very unhealthy. So the healthiest way is to eat the fruits just like that. But what if you love juices? Yes, try and make them the healthy way. Like this Mango Tangy! 

                                                          This recipe idea was my hubby’s who suggested I squeeze an Orange to Mango juice. I was like, whaaattttt?? Mango juice is heard, Mango Milkshake is heard. But what was Mango Orange juice? I gave him a “are you crazy?” stare. He asked me to give it a try. Though I was very reluctant to waste one whole mango on his crazy sounding idea, he compelled me again. Finally giving up, I mixed the sweet Mango and the sour Orange. He added a little lemon juice too in spite of my angry stare this time. 😀
                                                         But what we ended up getting was this amazing juice. The citrus actually enhanced the sweetness in the Mango and it tasted so good. 

                                                            The best part is this juice needs no sieving up and is sugarless. We were really surprised at how citrus makes mango taste so yum. It had both sweet and tangy flavors combined beautifully. So next time if you want a change from the regular juices, give this a try. You are sure to love it. Happy and Healthy cooking!

RECIPE:

Ingredients:
1 large Mango
1 Cup Orange juice
1/2 a Lemon (Indian variety)

Recipe:
1. Peel and chop the mangoes. Add to a blender jar.

2. Pour orange juice and squeeze lemon juice.

3. Blend well using hand blender or in a mixer.

Serve chilled.

Note:
1. This drink does not require sugar at all as the citrus enhances the sweetness of mangoes.
2. Don’t add more lemon than mentioned or the juice turns tangier than you would like.
