Instant Oats Dosa with Cucumber chutney

Oats Oats Oats!!! Always in search of oats recipes… Is it only me or is it the same with all of you?? After Oats Rava Dosa and Instant Oats Idli , now was time for some oats dosa.. This recipe was found by my hubby during his Google search for Instant dosa recipes {Yes!! Blog crazy like me… } I loved the simplicity of the recipe and the fact that it could be done in a jiffy as it was a very easy one.. Along with that, i also found a unique recipe of cucumber chutney…. A chutney from cucumber?? Wow! That sounded refreshing to me… So there i knew what was going to be my breakfast for the lazy weekend… 😉

                             Even though i was confident of the dosa and the chutney, i was wondering how the combo would be… And all my fears vanished as we sat for breakfast.. I am very much pleased to announce that the combo sure did work for us…. The dosa being slightly bland gave a wonderful combo with the tangy,spicy, refreshing cucumber chutney.. We loved the dosa fully dunked in the chutney and every bite was a flavor burst…

So do try this for a change from your regular breakfast…. The chutney can also be used as a sandwich spread or a healthy dip for your starters…. Do try and enjoy the flavors…. Happy and Healthy Cooking!!

For the Dosa:
1 Cup Instant Oats, coarsely powdered in mixer
1/4 Cup Rice flour
1/4 Cup Semolina/Rava
1/2 Cup Buttermilk
2 Green Chillies
A pinch of Asafoetida/Hing
Salt to taste

Oil to cook the dosa

For the Chutney:
1 medium sized Cucumber
1 medium sized Onion
1 clove of Garlic
1 Green Chilli
4-5 leaves of Mint/Pudina
8-10 sprigs of Coriander leaves
1 Tbsp Lime Juice
A pinch of Pepper Powder
Salt to taste

1. Mix the coarsely powdered oats,rice flour,semolina,buttermilk,chillies, hing and salt with little water to a batter of dosa batter consistency… Keep aside for 10 to 15 mins..

2. For the Chutney, roughly chop all the ingredients and blend together till a smooth paste… Check for spiciness and add more pepper powder (if less spicy) and lemon juice (if more spicy)….

3. Heat a pan and pour a ladle full of batter… Spread it using the back of the ladle as shown..

4. Cover and cook for half a minute or till the surface looks cooked.. Pour oil on the sides..

5. Flip and cook for few seconds..

6. Remove and serve hot with cucumber chutney or any chutney you like….
