Easy Peas Pulao

This recipe was in my “Must definitely add to blog” list since long.. Have made this pulao so many times that i have lost count.. But each time i would be too lazy {or hungry!} to click and postpone it to next time.. Finally when my hubby demanded it to be made for his lunch box today, i was more than happy to fulfill his wish.. This peas pulao takes not more than 20 mins of your time and is a super delicious one pot meal.. Sounds Great??

I had got this recipe from a master chef friend of mine Vidya Nayak Shenoy {Vidyakka} who is also the person behind this lip smacking recipe of Raw Banana Curry which has now made me buy bananas only to make this curry… Do try if you have missed.. Anyhow back to peas pulao, this is one of the easiest and tastiest rice dishes i have come across and is my favorite Jhatpat meal during those lazy weekends.. I am really glad i finally decided to click and post today itself {even though many other recipes are screaming to be posted!} as its Friday today and i know this pulao can be a boon during the weekend…. 🙂

So with my job done, i can definitely relax during the weekend.. You too try this recipe for lunch and eat out for dinner {Am i giving you ideas??}… Enjoy! Happy and Healthy Cooking!!

Special thanks to Vidyakka for this easy and delicious recipe!!

1/2 inch Cinnamon stick
2 cloves
1 Cardamom pods

2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add a cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods and green chillies.. Fry for few seconds..
3. Add thinly sliced onions and fry till they turn translucent on medium flame…

4. Add broken cashews and roast till they turn light brown in color..

5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till they lose the rawness..

6. Drain the rice and add.. Fry on medium flame till they change color and give out a nice aroma..
Note: This step is VERY important to get a delicious peas pulao.. so don’t skip this…

7. Drain water from the peas {if using frozen} and add.. Also add salt and mix well..

8. Now add finely chopped coriander leaves and hot water such till the level that it covers the rice completely…

9. Pressure cook on high flame for 4 whistles or normally how you cook your flavored rice..

10. Allow it to cool.. Mix well..
Serve hot with ketchup or a simple raita or your choice of Paneer Dishes!!
Note: You can also garnish with pan fried bread pieces or shallow fried paneer cubes.. Takes this pulao to another level… 🙂
